The American Dream

The
American Dream can be perceived in many ways. People believe America is full of
opportunities and ways to be successful. The opportunities are endless when it
comes to being successful in America. A person could start a new business or
pursue any kind of dream he or she has whether it be playing sports or becoming
one of the best singers. The possibilities are endless as well with the
opportunities. One of many dreams that many Americans have is to be a
professional athlete. Many Americans want to be that guy that throws the
game-winning touchdown to win the Super Bowl, or hit the game-winning shot, or
even hit a grand slam to win the World Series. I even imagined myself in my
backyard counting down 3…2…1…0 as I took the shot and if I made it my arms went
straight up to sky as if I won the NBA Finals. Dreams were made in my backyard
and so were other athletes. Athletes first start their sport in the backyard or
playground at school and that’s the beginning. Clint Dempsey started his soccer
career in the backyard of his grandma’s house. Playing soccer was Clint’s love
and that was the only thing that Clint did as a child. Soccer was life for
Clint Dempsey at a young age.
